Keeping Infrastructure Fit for Purpose

Power Transmission & Distribution line Rehabilitation and maintenance services

Power transmission and distribution infrastructure needs regular attention to remain dependable. We provide a project-focused approach to line rehabilitation, overhead network maintenance, component replacement and electrical infrastructure upgrades across Kenya.

Our Services

Power transmission and distribution line services

From individual asset repairs to planned line rehabilitation programmes, each project starts with an agreed scope, applicable technical requirements and the necessary safety arrangements.

Transmission Line Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation and refurbishment of overhead transmission line assets, subject to engineering assessment, approved scope and applicable voltage-class requirements.

  • Tower and structural component assessment
  • Conductor and insulator replacement
  • Hardware and connection refurbishment

Distribution Line Maintenance

Planned maintenance and rehabilitation of overhead distribution networks to address asset deterioration, damage and identified maintenance needs.

  • Pole and cross-arm replacement
  • Insulator and line hardware maintenance
  • Damaged component replacement

Inspection & Condition Assessment

Structured inspection and condition reporting to help asset owners understand defects, prioritise work and plan maintenance interventions.

  • Visual line and tower inspections
  • Condition and defect reporting
  • Maintenance recommendations

Conductor & Insulator Replacement

Replacement of specified overhead line components under approved work procedures and the network owner’s isolation and safety requirements.

  • onductor and earth-wire replacement
  • nsulator string replacement
  • lamps, connectors and line fittings

Pole, Tower & Structural Works

Assessment and rehabilitation of overhead line support structures, including identified structural defects and component deterioration.

  • Pole and tower condition assessment
  • Approved structural component repairs
  • Corrosion and deterioration reporting

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

Maintenance programmes designed around asset condition, operating priorities and the requirements of the responsible utility or infrastructure owner.

  • Scheduled maintenance activities
  • Post-event damage assessments
  • Corrective work and close-out reporting

Network Upgrades & Refurbishment

Support for planned upgrades and refurbishment of existing overhead electrical infrastructure based on approved engineering specifications.

  • Component and hardware upgrades
  • Refurbishment of existing line assets
  • Installation support for approved modifications

Wayleave & Vegetation Coordination

Support for identifying vegetation and access issues affecting overhead line corridors, coordinated with the relevant asset owner and land stakeholders.

  • Vegetation and access observations
  • Corridor condition reporting
  • Coordination of authorised clearance works

Last Mile Connectivity

Bringing power from the existing medium-voltage network to the end users themselves, in rural and peri-urban areas that have historically been unserved or underserved.

  • Network extension
  • Densification
  • Service drops and metering
  • Network reinforcement
Line Rehabilitation

Extend the service life of existing electrical assets

Rehabilitation provides an opportunity to address identified deterioration in an existing network. Depending on the engineering assessment, the scope may include replacing damaged components, refurbishing structural elements or upgrading selected overhead line hardware.

The right intervention depends on asset condition, design requirements, network operating constraints and the asset owner's technical specifications. Not every defect requires the same repair, and replacement decisions should be supported by appropriate inspection and engineering review.

  • Transmission tower and line component assessment
  • Distribution pole and cross-arm rehabilitation
  • Conductor, insulator and hardware replacement
  • Documented inspection findings and close-out records
Project Considerations

Plan the intervention before mobilising

Asset condition

Record observed deterioration, damaged components and relevant inspection findings.

Engineering requirements

Confirm the applicable drawings, component specifications, voltage class and approved work methods.

Network coordination

Agree access, outage requirements, authorisations and work interfaces with the responsible network operator.

Quality documentation

Record materials, completed activities, inspection outcomes and outstanding corrective actions.
